Privacy Policy
Gaulden Monuments
Effective October 29, 2026
Gaulden Monuments ("we," "us") makes headstones, markers, benches and other memorials. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit gauldenmonuments.com, ask for a quote, design a memorial or place an order, and what we do with it.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Quote and contact forms: your name, email, phone number and the kind of memorial you're interested in, plus anything else you write.
- Blog sign-up: your name and email, so we can send you new posts. Ask us any time to stop.
- Orders: your name, billing and shipping address, email, phone, the cemetery and delivery details, and the memorial options you choose. When you pay online, your card goes to our payment processor and we never see the full number.
- The memorial designer: the names, dates, epitaph, emblems and other choices you enter. When you add a design to your cart, a picture of the finished design is saved so it can travel with your order (see "Your memorial design" below).
Information collected automatically
- Basic visit data: your browser and device type, pages you view, the page that sent you to us, and your approximate location based on your IP address.
- Cookies and similar tools placed by the services listed below.
How we use it
- To answer your questions, give you quotes, and design, make, deliver and install your memorial.
- To process payments and keep records of orders.
- To understand which pages and ads help families find us, and to improve the website.
- To train our staff and check the quality of our service.
- To protect the website from spam and abuse.
Services we use
We use outside companies to run parts of our business. Most of them get only what they need to do their job. Google and Microsoft also use the visit data their tools collect for their own purposes, described in their own policies.
- Google Analytics and Google Ads measure visits and the results of our ads. We use Google signals, which gives us age, interest and cross-device reports for people who have ads personalization turned on in their Google account, and we may show you our ads on other sites based on your visit here. Google and its partners use first-party cookies (like the Google Analytics cookie) together with their own cookies and identifiers to do this. You can read how Google uses this data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, turn off ad personalization at https://adssettings.google.com, opt out of Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and opt out of other ad networks at https://optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Microsoft Clarity shows us how visitors use our pages, including heat maps and recordings of mouse movement, clicks and scrolling. We use this to find parts of the site that are confusing or broken. Clarity masks what you type into forms, and Microsoft keeps recordings for about 30 days. Microsoft collects this data under its own privacy statement and may use it for its own purposes, including advertising: https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. You can opt out at https://optout.aboutads.info.
- Google reCAPTCHA helps us block spam on forms. Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and terms (https://policies.google.com/terms) apply.
- Our website and online store providers host the website, the store, and checkout.
- Our email service delivers form messages to our staff and sends you a confirmation.
- Our web developer hosts parts of the website, including the memorial designer and the design pictures described below, and reviews website analytics to report to us on how the site is doing.
- Video and map providers (such as Vimeo, YouTube and Google Maps) may set their own cookies when you play a video or open a map.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give your name, phone number or email to other companies for their marketing.
Your memorial design
The memorial designer lets you see your stone with your own names, dates and wording before you order. We don't save what you type in the designer until you add the design to your cart. At that point a picture of the design is saved on our web developer's server and a private link to it is attached to your order, so our shop builds exactly what you saw.
The picture is saved at an unlisted address that only appears in your order. It is not posted publicly or used for advertising. We keep design pictures until we clear them out or you ask us to remove yours. Email us and we'll delete it.
Our finished-work galleries show real memorials we made. Product previews and the sample names and dates in the designer are illustrations, not real people. If your family's memorial appears on our site and you'd rather it didn't, email us and we'll take it down.
How long we keep it
- Order records: as long as we need them for the job, warranties, and our business and tax records. Design pictures: until we clear them out or you ask us to remove yours.
- Form messages: as long as they're useful for following up.
- Analytics data is kept by those services under their own schedules.
Your choices
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some features like video may not.
- Ad personalization: you can manage Google ad settings at https://adssettings.google.com.
- Your information: you can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We'll do so unless we need to keep it to finish your order or meet a legal requirement.
Children
Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No website or email system is completely secure, so please don't send card numbers by email or form.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
